• Sturdy shoes
As the terrain varies greatly, it is recommended that you wear shoes suitable for walking, ideally with ankle support.
• Water
We do build up a sweat (there are plenty of opportunities to have a sip of
water!) Water is especially necessary if you are feeding as you can quickly
become dehydrated.
• Clothes
Layers are best. The hills are very exposed, hence it tends to be cooler and windier on the top. Waterproofs are recommended (check the weather forecast) BBC Weather Page for the area
*Hats are essential in the winter. (Ok it’s not glam but it’s warm!)
• Baby changing / feeding
There are numerous benches on dotted along our walks and we are always happy
to wait for babies who need changing and / or feeding. See
routes for car parks with facilities.
• Pushchairs
…“have wheels will travel”. It is not necessary to have an off road buggy in
order to be able to explore the Malverns with the MUMs. The group has a wide
variety of pushchairs and all manage to complete the routes. (The sturdier the
pushchair the better. Some routes are on tracks rather than paths)
• Parking
Council Tax payers in the town of Malvern, and the parishes of Colwall, Guarlford, Malvern Wells, Mathon and West Malvern are entitled to an annual concessionary car parking sticker at a cost of £2.00. These are available from the Tourist Information Board in Malvern. If you reside outside of this area annual tickets cost £25 and these are available from the Malvern Hills Conservators office (opposite the theatre). Otherwise, a ticket will cost £2 per day. www.malvernhills.org.uk
